Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow returns to ITV

The hit series of classic gameshow reboots will return to ITV and ITV Hub on Saturday 3 April at 8:35pm, including new addition Name That Tune

Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, the extravaganza of nostalgic and exciting gameshow reboots, returns to brighten up Saturday nights on 3rd April at 8:35pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

Once again hosted by inimitable funnyman Alan Carr, the 11 x 60' series from Talkback, a Fremantle label, will launch with a celebrity special of the legendary Play Your Cards Right. The big-name couples vying to win the jackpot for their charity of choice include Harry & Sandra Redknapp, Nicola Adams & Ella Baig, Martin & Shirlie Kemp and Catherine Tyldesley & Tom Pitfield.

This will be followed week-by-week with the return of all the UK's favourite gameshows from the first series, with contestants from the general public taking on The Price is Right, Take Your Pick, Strike It Lucky, Bullseye and Play Your Cards Right. However, this time a set of plucky contestants will also put their musical knowledge to the test on new addition and beloved classic, Name That Tune.

This initial run of eight episodes concludes with another celebrity special and will then be followed by three more specials to air later in the year. Throughout all eleven nail-biting shows filled with family fun, contestants will be hoping to win big-money or top-of-the-range prizes, as they battle to get to those all-new epic endgames.

Alan Carr said: "I am so super-excited to be back with my Epic Game show, frankly its nice to be just out the house, but to start the run with 'Celebrity Play Your Cards Right' is just what we need right now. A perfect storm of nostalgia, family fun and with the chance to win 30,000 pounds for charity - I dare you not to be on the end of your sofas shouting Higher and Lower!"

Harry Redknapp said: "Play Your Cards Right is an absolute TV classic. We are so looking forward to appearing on the show, I don't think it's any secret that I can be a little competitive so Sandra and I are definitely going to be trying our best to win something for my charity, that's for sure."

Nicola Adams said: "The first series of Epic Gameshow was such a great, feel-good show for Saturday nights, and Alan's such a brilliant host. I'm thrilled that Play Your Cards Right has been brought back and Ella and I got a chance to try our luck."

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, said: "Epic Gameshow is the only series that puts all of the nation's best loved game shows on one studio floor, and with an exciting mix of nostalgia, big money prizes, and of course Alan Carr at the helm, it's Saturday night TV at its best."

Jonno Richards, Managing Director of Talkback, a Fremantle label, said: "It's great to be bringing Epic Gameshow back to Saturday nights, with a fantastic line-up of shows, some big-name talent to kick us off and most importantly, the brilliant Alan Carr running the show. It's going to be Epic!"

Rick and Morty series 5 to land on E4 this June

E4 is in very unsafe hands as Rick and Morty is set to make a return to the channel this June – hurrah!

Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth's family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.

The Truth About Police Stop and Search

Channel 4 have commissioned Flicker Productions to make a 1x60 film exploring the contentious issues of Stop and Search, fronted by Jermaine Jenas.

This film will put this controversial aspect of modern policing under the microscope. The Truth About Police Stop and Search, features the experiences of approximately 40 Black men and teenagers who used cameras to record their experiences of Stop and Search across England, and to see how their interactions with the police play out.

In England and Wales, Black men are 9 times more likely to be stopped and searched than white men. This documentary hopes to help the British public understand the full scale of the issue, and its wide reaching social, psychological and personal consequences.

Flicker Productions Executive Producer Colleen Flynn says, "We wanted to go beyond the news headlines and document how stop and search is affecting so many men, women and families across the country, and with Jermaine at the helm ask the audience to reflect on and understand the everyday scrutiny black men find themselves under"

Jermaine Jenas says, "This film is really important to me, I wanted the viewer at home to gain some understanding of what life is like for a young Black man dealing with the police. I hope these stories will help paint that picture and highlight the day to day struggle and mental health difficulties that are being put on one community because of Stop & Search. I'm hoping for change."

First image released for Nida Manzoor’s anarchic, joyful and irreverent music comedy We Are Lady Parts

We Are Lady Parts is an exuberant music comedy following a Muslim female punk band – called Lady Parts – who are on a mission to find a lead guitarist and maybe, just maybe, get a proper gig.

The first glimpse of Nida Manzoor's (Doctor Who, Enterprice, Hounslow Diaries) six-part Channel 4 music comedy, We Are Lady Parts, has been released. A bold and celebratory comedy exploring sisterhood, belonging and finding your voice, We Are Lady Parts (6X30') is currently slated for release on Channel 4 in Spring. The series will also launch on Peacock in the US.

The series is written, created and directed by Manzoor, who has drawn on her own experiences and taken inspiration from the rich and diverse cultural collectives and artists in London; and boasts an exciting ensemble cast of new British acting talent. We Are Lady Parts shows the highs and lows of the band – called Lady Parts – as seen through the eyes of Amina Hussain (Anjana Vasan) – a geeky microbiology PhD student, who's on the lookout for love and romance. Lady Parts' fierce and enigmatic frontwoman Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey) sees something in Amina that the others can't see. When Saira discovers Amina fancies Ahsan (Zaqi Ismail), fellow band member and taxi-driving drummer Ayesha's (Juliette Motamed) dreamboat brother, she uses this as leverage by offering to hook them both up on a date, but only if Amina agrees to join the band. Cartoon-drawing bassist and backing vocalist Bisma (Faith Omole) and Momtaz (Lucie Shorthouse) the band's wheeler-dealer band manager are not convinced that Amina is right for their band. Amina has never, ever met girls like this before and she's soon swept up in their joyful, anarchic energy and punk spirit. But she becomes torn and caught up between two different worlds – that of her more strait-laced uni friends led by her formidable bestie Noor (Aiysha Hart) and the world of Lady Parts. Will she be the key to the band's success? And - will she finally find a husband?

The series is packed with original punk songs and surprising cover tracks, written and adapted by Nida and her siblings Shez Manzoor, who also scored the show, Sanya Manzoor and Benni Fregin.

We Are Lady Parts is at once an unapologetically bold comedy and a joyful celebration of the richness and diversity found in contemporary London, whilst also an exploration on the fundamental questions of life: Who am I? Where and with whom do I belong?. But ultimately it's about funny women with real agency, forging their own lives and identities in a world determined to do it for them.

ITV commissions The Killing of PC Harper: A Wife’s Story

Lissie Harper, whose husband, PC Andrew Harper, was killed in a crime that sent shockwaves across the country, will share in depth for the first time the story of her journey for justice with Sir Trevor McDonald in an exclusive new film for ITV.

The Killing of PC Harper: A Wife's Story (W/T), 1x60, will see Lissie talking at length for the first time about the profound affect her husband's killing has had on her life.

Just four weeks after their wedding in 2019, Andrew went to investigate a robbery and never came home.

This horrific crime dominated national headlines with blanket media coverage revealing the discovery of his body, how he was dragged to his death by a stolen car and, the laughing, cheering and smirking in court during the trial from his killers, who were cleared of murder and convicted of manslaughter.

Speaking to Sir Trevor, Lissie will share her memories of the relationship she shared with Andrew before tragedy struck, how, in a major turning point, her grief evolved into a refusal to be victim and instead drive her current campaign for the introduction of 'Harper's Law'. The legacy in her husband's name proposes a life sentence for anyone guilty of killing an emergency worker (including police officers, firefighters and paramedics among others), while committing a crime.

In telling the definitive story of the case from the first 999 call to the hunt for Andrew's killers, Lissie's fight for justice and the life-changing impact of her husband's killing, Sir Trevor will also meet lead detectives in the case, press and wider friends and family to build the full picture of events.

Lissie Harper said: "Harper's Law will mean that a person found guilty of killing a police officer, firefighter, nurse, doctor, paramedic or prison officer, as a direct result of a crime they have committed, would be jailed for life.

"This means that a life sentence would be imposed, asking for a minimum term in prison. Harper's Law would provide a strong deterrent and an appropriate punishment for committing such a heinous crime.

"I know that if he could, Andrew would be right by my side fighting for this law change… he would want me to get this law passed for all who deserve it."

Lissie added: "I've never sought the limelight but I recognise being in the public eye is important to highlight why this law change is desperately needed.

"I think it's important for the public to see all the hard work that goes into our campaign as part of this documentary. And I am really pleased to be sharing my story with ITV and Sir Trevor McDonald as I strive to achieve Harper's Law."

Sir Trevor McDonald said: "The tragic events that happened around the death of PC Andrew Harper shocked the nation. To have the opportunity to meet Lissie and hear the impact of his death on her and her family, and report on her ambition to create lasting change, compelled me to be a part of this film."

Alongside archive footage the documentary features unseen police interview footage and CCTV to create a complete picture of the events as they unfolded. For the first time in compelling interviews, the police involved recount the race to catch the killers.

Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s Wellington Paranormal lands on Sky Comedy and NOW TV this April

Cult mockumentary comedy from Grammy and Emmy award-winning Jemaine Clement and Oscar-winning Taika Waititi, Wellington Paranormal will be available this Spring on Sky. With all episodes of S1-S3 Wellington Paranormal available as a boxset from Monday 5 April 9pm on Sky Comedy and NOW TV.

There are some crimes normal cops can't investigate… Officers Minogue and O'Leary are invited to join the new Wellington Paranormal Unit of the Police when they unwittingly bring in a young woman possessed by the demon Bazu'aal; a demon who can jump from body to body and who is literally hell-bent on opening a portal to Hades in Cuba Street's iconic Bucket Fountain. With the help of their Senior Sergeant Ruawai Maaka, they succeed in banishing the demon thanks to some quick googling and so the Wellington Paranormal Unit is born.

For the rest of the series, our hapless duo investigate an alien invasion on a farm; meet a werewolf out for revenge on her ex; resolve a noise complaint at a haunted house full of ghosts from the 1970s; encounter the vampire Nick from What We Do In The Shadows stealing blood from the hospital, along the way investigating a ghost behind a dairy, a scary ritual in a park, some creepy clowns by the road and a couple of dreary goths in a cemetery; then in the exciting conclusion to the series, Minogue and O'Leary race to stop a pair of zombified cops from their station before they get to Courtenay Place on a Friday night and cause a zombie apocalypse! All in a series' work for our dynamic duo and their brave sergeant.

Wellington Paranormal looks like a typical police reality show in the style of Motorway Patrol or Police Ten7 but with X-Files-style paranormal events as the 'crimes' being investigated. The performances are realistic but funny using a cast of great comedic improvisers with scripts by exciting new writing talent.

The series was directed, produced and script edited by comedy legend Jemaine Clement with the help of director Jackie Van Beek and executive produced by Taika Waititi.

Within a matter of weeks I was writing - not for publication, but because I just had to get down on paper the world I encountered: its complexity, laughter, loyalty, the moral conflicts and the dangers that were not only physical. Policing showed me London in a way no other job could. The product of this experience was my first novel, Post Mortem.  After a fierce bidding war, I chose Patrick Harbinson to bring the book to screen. I was persuaded not only by his outstanding track record, but by his passionate engagement with the characters and the choices they face. I am thrilled and honoured that Patrick and the high-calibre team at Mammoth and ITV have come together to bring my characters to life on the screen."

Paul Testar (The Serpent) is producer, Sherie Myers (I May Destroy You) is co-producer, and Jim Loach (Save Me Too) is director.

In The Tower's breath-taking opening sequence, a veteran beat cop and a teenage girl fall to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London. Left alive on the roof are a five-year-old boy and rookie police officer Lizzie Griffiths. Within hours, Lizzie has disappeared, and Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins is charged with leading the investigation. She not only has to track down Lizzie before she comes to serious harm, but also to uncover the truth behind the grisly deaths. What chain of events took two police officers and two children to the roof of that tower block - why did two of them die? Why did two of them survive?

Commented writer and executive producer Patrick Harbinson:

"After six years on Homeland, I wanted to get back to my roots and   write something firmly based in the UK.  As soon as I read Kate London's beautifully written novels I knew they were it. They are authentic, funny, crammed with original characters, and they tell intense and challenging stories. I know that audiences will fall in love with Kate's two wonderful protagonists Sarah and Lizzie, just as I have.  I am delighted to be working with Damien and my friends at Mammoth Screen again."

Commented ITV's Head of Drama Polly Hill:

"I am excited to bring Kate London's compelling novel to the screen. Patrick has done a brilliant adaptation which highlights the difficult moral questions that the novel asks about policing in contemporary London. This promises to be a powerful and original new police drama and I'm proud to have it on ITV."

The antagonistic relationship between the experienced Sergeant Sarah Collins and the novice cop Lizzie Griffiths is at the heart of London's novels and The Tower.  What happened on the roof of the tower is the mystery that Sarah must uncover. When it's finally revealed, the truth will cast its shadow over Sarah and Lizzie's relationship and their lives.

Commented Damien Timmer, Executive Producer on behalf of Mammoth Screen:

"Kate London's novels have everything – proper authenticity, rich characters and page-turning stories. It's a privilege to be bringing them to the screen, and to be working with Patrick Harbinson again. Jim Loach is a director we both greatly admire and we're very happy he's at the helm!"

ITV confirms further casting on The Larkins with Sabrina Bartlett and Tok Stephen

Sabrina Bartlett and Tok Stephen will take on the iconic roles of Mariette Larkin and Cedric 'Charley' Charlton.  They join Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan who were recently announced as playing Pop & Ma Larkin in the new six-part comedy drama series

The Larkins is a new television adaptation of H.E. Bates' novel The Darling Buds of May, written by acclaimed screenwriter Simon Nye (Finding Alice, The Durrells, Men Behaving Badly) with the aim of capturing the warmth, optimism and escapism of The Larkin family for a modern generation.  Abigail Wilson (Trollied, Carters Get Rich, Stella) writes one of the episodes.

The book and its sequels were last adapted 30 years ago as The Darling Buds of May and became one of ITV's all time highest rated television comedy dramas winning critical acclaim and audience approval.

Set in the late 1950's, The Larkins is the story of a working-class family led by the golden-hearted wheeler dealer Pop Larkin and his wife Ma, together with their six children, including the beautiful Mariette.

Fiercely loyal to each other and their community, each Larkin family member has a strong work ethic, alongside a disinterest in authority.

In the idyllic and beautiful Kent countryside, known as the Garden of England, The Larkins have a achieved a small patch of paradise where nothing is wasted and they enjoy life to the full.

There's an overwhelming sense of plenty in their lives and a lot of joy and raucous laughter, as Ma Larkin provides a seemingly endless supply of delicious, hearty meals.  And no matter what time of day, The Larkins and their guests aren't averse to enjoying the odd cocktail or two!

The Larkins are fundamentally good-hearted people who are always happy to share what they have with others, despite the fact that what they have is sometimes obtained by unusual means!  In a rather mean-spirited way their good heartedness is not always shared by certain members of the local community.

From government officials and snobbish second homeowners to aggressive urban developers, the Larkins often deal with threats to their idyllic way of life – but they never take things lying down.

Alongside their weekly battles with authority and snobbish villagers, The Larkins will follow the love story between Mariette and village newcomer Cedric 'Charley' Charlton. Charley arrives in the village as an unworldly and officious accountant from the city, there to investigate the Larkins' tax affairs.

He is soon distracted by the beautiful Mariette, with whom he falls head over heels in love.  However, he quickly discovers that he has a romantic rival in the form of the handsome and mysterious Tom Fisher. Mariette, on the other hand, may have plans of her own, which don't involve men.

On joining the series as Mariette Larkin, Sabrina Bartlett said;

"I am really REALLY excited to be taking on the role of Mariette Larkin in this new adaption of H.E. Bates novels. I can't wait to bring these heart-warming stories to life alongside such a wonderful team. It's just the perfect dose of escapism we all need right now"

Tok Stephen on his casting as Cedric 'Charley' Charlton;

"I am thrilled to be cast as Charley in such a beloved and wonderful show. I can't wait to work alongside Joanna, Bradley and Sabrina. I'm incredibly excited. I hope we can impress fans of the original novels with our version."

Bradley Walsh on his casting as Pop Larkin;

"I'm thrilled to be asked to be part of this much loved and iconic series of stories. The warmth and affection that H. E Bates has generated through his books is so uplifting and I cannot wait to be part of the Larkin family. It'll be a hoot!"

Joanna Scanlan added;

"What better comfort could there be from all we have endured this year than the rolling laughter and outsize hugs of Ma and Pop? It's going to be an honour to help bring The Larkins to the nation's devices!"

The comedy drama will be produced by Objective Fiction, Genial Productions and Objective Media Group Scotland in association with All3Media International.   Executive producers are Ben Farrell and Charlotte Lewis for Objective Fiction and Sophie Clarke-Jervoise and Simon Nye for Genial Productions, and Toby Stevens for OMG Scotland. Bradley Walsh is also an executive producer.

Acclaimed actress Tracie Bennett to return to the cobbles after 22 years

Coronation Street's Rita Tanner is to get a blast from the past next month when her errant foster daughter Sharon returns to Weatherfield.

Award winning West End and Broadway actress Tracie Bennett will be reprising the role she made famous in the 80s and 90s.

Sharon Bentley was last seen on the cobbles in 1999, and no one is more surprised to see her than Rita, especially as the pair fell out over Sharon's attempt to sell the Kabin after it was gifted to her.

Jenny Connor is also less than impressed with the prodigal foster daughter's return and Rita's decision to give Sharon another chance.

What has brought Sharon back to a place where she has more enemies than friends, and will Rita live to regret letting this cuckoo back into the nest?

On her return to Coronation Street 22 years after leaving, and 39 years since she first arrived as troubled teenager Sharon, Tracie said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the cobbles. It is a dream come true for me, I had such an amazing time there and I am looking forward to working with Barbara again and getting my teeth into the storylines they have planned for Sharon.

"I was first approached about coming back about 18 months ago, I was keen and excited to see what was in store but my work schedule and then the pandemic has meant that it has taken till now for it all to come together. I am so pleased that I can finally tell everyone as it has been hard trying to keep the secret."

Producer Iain MacLeod said: "It's extremely exciting to see someone of Tracie's calibre revisit a role so rich in history and with such a complicated psychology. Sharon returns across some badly burned bridges to reconnect with Rita - but very quickly her presence becomes destabilising and extremely dangerous, in ways that I hope the viewers won't see coming. The big question is: what has her life become since she was last on the Street? The answer to that question will drive a massive story for us, which runs into the summer and beyond."

Tracie made 173 appearances as Sharon in 1982, 1983-84, and 1999 ruffling more than a few feathers along the way. She made a play for Brian Tilsley, and lied to Gail that they were having an affair, before leaving under a cloud. Returning briefly in 1983 she caught the eye of Curly Watts but dumped him for his mate Terry Duckworth.

In 1999 she came back to invite Rita to her wedding to Ian Bentley, who she subsequently dumped at the alter - exposing his affair with Natalie Barnes. Happy that Sharon decided to stay around after the wedding fiasco, Rita offered Sharon a job at The Kabin. Sharon happily accepted, although she soon clashed with Rita's assistant Leanne Battersby. Much to Leanne's horror, and that of few of Rita's other friends, Rita offered The Kabin to Sharon as a birthday gift. Rita admitted to Sharon that she offered her the business as she was lonely.

After an ill-fated romance with Danny Hargreaves and a suicide attempt Sharon got back in touch with ex fiance Ian and much to Rita's dismay she put the Kabin up for sale to purchase a house with Ian in Bolton. Rita bought the Kabin back off Sharon and sent her packing.

Since leaving Coronation Street Tracie has become one of theatre's foremost leading ladies, winning two Olivier Awards for roles in West End productions and was nominated for a Tony Award for her portrayal of Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow on Broadway.  Other musical theatre roles include Les Miserable and Hairspray. She recently played Carlotta in the National theatre production of Follies and starred in the revival of Mame at Hope Mill Theatre where she is patron. Television work includes acclaimed ITV dramas Scott and Bailey and The Bay.

ITV Studios and Nippon TV announce Stacking It!

TV Studios and Nippon TV today announce Stacking It!, a brand-new global format created through the co-development deal agreed between the two companies last year.

Announced to buyers by Mike Beale, MD Global Creative Network at ITV Studios, and Tom Miyauchi, Format Producer of International Business Development at Nippon TV, during ITV Studios' London Screenings Formats Festival session, Stacking It! is a large-scale family entertainment game show with prizes galore, but contestants will only be able to take home…what they can stack.

The format will be officially premiered to the international market at the MIPTV Formats Accelerator sessions on Friday 9th April at 09.30am CET.

Each company will produce the new series in their respective territories. Nippon TV will manage the sales of the new format across Asia, with ITV Studios representing the show internationally and producing it in those territories where it has an unscripted production base.

Mike Beale said: "We've been living in strange times this past year, but it is said that events like those we have witnessed lead to great steps in innovation and the ways we work - and that could not be more true of our collaboration with Nippon. We're very excited to be launching Stacking It! next month, when people will be able to get the full story, see exclusive clips and meet the creators of the show, including ITV Studios label, Gameface, to explain how it all works."

Tom Miyauchi  said: "I am extremely proud to bring our new format to the industry. It originated from our creator Keita Ono's crazy idea about families stacking everyday items from their homes to win prizes. Then, working with ITV Studios we elevated it to the next level as a studio game show on a global scale. The collaboration with the amazing team at ITV Studios was a leading co-production of the current times where both parties are extremely committed to creating a new format in a new way. The pilot that we are currently producing will be unveiled at MIPTV on April 9th and I am confident that it will spark conversations online."

Stacking It! is the latest format the two organisations are collaborating on, following the announcement last year that ITV Studios had acquired the international production rights for Nippon TV's game show format, Red Carpet Survival, again in those territories where it has a production base.

The Cube returns. Coming to ITV later this year

Following the success of last year's Million Pound specials, the award-winning hit show The Cube is returning to ITV and ITV Hub later this year.

Phillip Schofield returns to preside over the nerve-wracking gameshow, which sees contestants attempt seemingly simple tasks within the high-pressure confines of the iconic, and often punishing Perspex box.

The Million Pound Cube, which aired in October 2020, launched with 4.1m viewers. The series, which was stripped across the week, averaged 3.5m across 7 episodes, up on the previous series in 2015 by +0.4m and the biggest series of the show since 2014.

Produced by Objective Media Group Entertainment, the new 6x60 series will once again see pairs of contestants, from the same household, take on the ferocity of The Cube. Casting for the series is now under way (see below link) and as well as facing solo games, contestants will also face brand new two player challenges as they demonstrate skill and determination by braving The Cube, in the hope of winning a major cash prize.

Each pair has nine lives to complete seven games, each worth an increasing amount of money, as they move closer to the £250,000 jackpot. Players will have to overcome extreme nerves and frustration as they take on deceivingly simple tasks, but can they beat the tyrant that is The Cube?

As well as the six-part contestant series, there will also be a 2x60 celebrity specials, allowing well-known names and faces to feel the intense pressure as they endeavour to beat The Cube and win £250,000 for their chosen charity.

Phillip Schofield said: "It was such a treat to be back in the studio last year, with the pairs of contestants adding a whole new twist on the drama inside the box. This series you'll see a whole new side to The Cube… get ready to be on the edge of your sofas!"

Channel 4 and Davina McCall to break the menopause taboo

Channel 4 is to challenge our reluctance to talk about the menopause in Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and The Menopause. With startling honesty, Davina McCall will describe her own menopause journey, busting the myths surrounding the transition, and dispelling the shame and fear around hormone replacement therapy.

A 1x60 commission from Finestripe Productions, the film will investigate the science that adds to our understanding of the menopause and its impact on women's health.  In the film Davina will fearlessly tackle the midlife taboo that can destroy women's jobs and relationships, and will look at the lack of understanding and misinformation that still exists around the menopause.

Underpinned with the personal stories of women from a variety of backgrounds who have lived through everything the menopause has thrown at them, the film will spark a candid conversation about a subject that has for too long been a taboo.

Davina McCall, presenter said: "I don't think I've ever worked on a project that has affected me so deeply. I get home after filming and sometimes I just sit down and cry ... from deep frustration and anger at how we are failing women. This film isn't just for menopausal women, it's for their partners, their fathers, their brothers, and their sons. We're all in this together. I used to think that menopause was an age thing and now I realise it's a woman thing. For far too long, there's been a shroud of embarrassment, shame and fear around this topic, and this is where it stops!"

Channel 4 goes back to school with new Ackley Bridge images released

Channel 4 has today released two images from the new series of its award-winning school drama Ackley Bridge, which will be back in the classroom this April in a brand new format, with 10x30' episodes stripped across two weeks in an earlier teatime slot.

Ackley Bridge has been the biggest show of the year so far for teenagers (16-19-year olds) on All 4 and the biggest library title on All 4 for 16-24

The images from the critically acclaimed series produced by The Forge show best mates Kayla (Robyn Cara, Life, Hounslow Diaries) and Fizza (Yasmin Al Khudhairi, Hilda), who will be new to viewers but are existing pupils at Ackley Bridge, as well as Johnny, (Ryan Dean, The Gentleman, Penny on M.A.R.S.) a cocky, good looking new student and heartthob. While Johnny catches the eye of both funny, big-hearted Kayla and her fiery, outspoken best friend Fizza, he remains deeply suspicious of his new school.

A second shot shows teachers Kaneez Paracha, (Sunetra Sarker), Sue Carp (Charlie Hardwick) and Hassain Hussein (Hareet Deol) who are returning alongside fellow teachers Martin Evershed (Rob James Collier), Mandy Carter (Jo Joyner), Rashid Hyatt (Tony Jayawardena), as well as favourite Ackley pupils, Sam (Megan Parkinson), Chloe (Fern Deacon), Rukhi (Phoebe Tuffs-Berry), Spud (Zara Salim), Hayley (Cody Ryan), and Razia (Nazmeen Kauser).

ITV commissions The Masked Dancer

Hot on the heels of hit show The Masked Singer comes The Masked Dancer. This new 7 x 90 series, produced by Bandicoot Scotland, will see celebrity contestants perform unique dances, whilst covered from head to toe in extravagant, colourful costumes and masks, leaving the viewers and star panel to guess their identities. The Masked Dancer will air late Spring on ITV and the ITV Hub.

Bringing a wealth of dance expertise to the panel, Oti Mabuse will be taking up a seat alongside Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall as they all watch closely to see who knows their sashays from their pliés. Hosting this most unusual of dance parties will be Joel Dommett.

The new format will feature 12 celebrities stepping onto the dancefloor to take on character alter egos as they trip the light fantastic in a bid to wow the panel and confuse with their moves. Clue packages will accompany every Masked Dancer to help the panel and at home detectives crack the case of who the famous faces behind the masks are. From ballet to ballroom, salsa to swing and everything in between, the mystery line up will be dancing onto screens this Spring.

Oti Mabuse said:  "I'm so thrilled and honoured to be joining the panel on The Masked Dancer.  I'm a huge fan of The Masked Singer and I loved the US Masked Dancer so I just can't wait to start on this show. As a dancer I will be watching the dancers intently looking for clues - it's going to be so much fun!!!"

Jonathan Ross said: "What people don't know is that secretly I am an expert in dance and can spot a ball change from a box step no problem. The title of best detective on the panel is most certainly coming my way!"

Mo Gilligan said: "I love The Masked Singer. It's a crazy bit of joy, which we all need right now - so when ITV asked if I wanted to join The Masked Dancer I, of course, said a huge yes! I'm really looking forward to getting back with the team for another brilliant series."

Davina McCall said: "I love playing detective and I love dancing so what could be better?! I'm currently swotting up on all things dance in preparation and I will be watching those celebrity feet like a hawk. They always have such an amazing cast on The Masked Singer so it could literally be anyone hiding and dancing behind those masks and that's what makes it so exciting."

Joel Dommett said: "Well, this is set to be an amazing fun twist…will someone do the twist?! The Masked Dancer is that little bit of silly fun our lives need right now and I'm so excited to be hosting it. I'm looking forward to some incredible costumes, epic performances and accidentally saying Masked Singer at least five times."

Keeping Faith - Interview with Eve Myles

Keeping Faith is back for a third and final series. Where did we leave Faith at the end of series two?

We left Faith at the end of series two asking Evan to leave, and a divorce was imminent. She had come to learn of all his dark secrets and had become embroiled in the dark underworld that Evan was running away from.

What can we expect from the new series?

In the new series you can expect the unexpected and even more secrets revealed. There's a new character who shakes Faith's world just as she's about to get back onto her feet.

New and old characters fight for their family and justice, and Faith's past coming back to haunt her. There are exceptional performances from all the cast and brilliant scripts from Matthew Hall and Pip Broughton.

How is Faith's love life?

Faith's love life is non-existent, she's focused completely on the children and her new law firm.

There are new additions to the cast in this series. What has it been like to work with new cast members?

This series sees many amazing guest leads who have given incredible performances and been part of bringing the third series to new heights.

What can you tell us about Celia Imrie's character?

The character of Rose, played by the amazing Celia Imrie, comes into town like a powerful, menacing force. She has defined Faith but plays on all her fears. A woman with huge guilt, a heavyweight in manipulation with many dangerous contacts, a woman with nothing to lose.

What can you tell us about the court case in series three?

The court case deals with an extremely sensitive subject that highlights many questions. Brilliant performances and storyline. This is the type of case that would either make or break Faith... I think it does both.

How was filming during a pandemic?

It was difficult, it changed everything really, but we were lucky with the stuff we had already shot. It's funny how the new protocols become normal very quickly. The main thing was everyone must stay safe and be vigilant at all times, in and outside of work. We got it done safely, that's the main thing for me.

Each series, the coat has almost been a character in its own right. Which is your favourite and why?

My favourite coat is the yellow mac... it's the go-to, always.

Who has been the most fun on set?

There is no one I could single out, because the cast is small and all are brilliant and funny in their individual ways. Hannah Daniel was particularly good at winding me up to be naughty.

Looking back at the three series as a whole, what's been your favourite memory?

My favourite memory would always be the day we spent on the water in Laugharne. The tide came in and out so fast, the sunset was magical and everyone kept saying, 'wow this isn't work, this is a treat'.

What was your favourite scene to film?

My favourite scene to film was the scene where Faith tells Evan what she knows and tells him to leave at the end of series two. Such a complex, intimate scene that felt almost like a piece of theatre. I really enjoyed having that time and moment with Brad on screen. It was long and tiring to shoot, but the end result is very authentic. Sometimes TV is so fast that scenes are neglected and rushed due to time etc, but this felt like we shot a scene for a film. Again I'm grateful for this.

What's your favourite thing about Faith as a character? What will you miss about her?

My favourite thing about Faith is that she will never give up. I will miss her courage.
