Deal Or No Deal return confirmed for ITV and ITVX

Do you have what it takes to outsmart The Banker? Casting is currently open for the highly anticipated return of the beloved television program, Deal Or No Deal, in a new and improved format featuring fresh prize boxes and a new crop of contenders eager to win a life-changing sum of money. The question remains: who possesses the skills necessary to vanquish our all-new Banker?

Remarkable Entertainment, a Banijay UK company, will produce the series with the charismatic Stephen Mulhern as the new host. In this gripping game of nerve and intuition, players will face off against the infamous Banker to claim the grand cash prize.

Each week, a player will confront 22 sealed boxes, each concealing a unique cash sum. Blind to the amount in each box, the player must eliminate them one by one until only a few remain. As the stakes rise, the Banker will make offers to the player, tempting them to exchange their box for a guaranteed sum of money. However, the value of the unopened boxes may be much higher, resulting in a nail-biting game of risk and reward. If the player holds out for the bigger prizes, the Banker's offers will continue to escalate until they reach their breaking point or hit the jackpot with an extraordinary cash prize.

Host Stephen Mulhern said:

"Wow what an opportunity, I'm beyond excited to be hosting the brand-new series. I've always been such a huge fan of the show, so much so, I've been practising at home with small cereal boxes! It looks so simple but it's an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home.  It's one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour! I can't wait to get started"

Have you got what it takes to beat The Banker? Casting is now open

Kidnapped: The Angel Lynn Story

Channel 4 commissions Kidnapped: The Angel Lynn Story from Wonderhood Studios

Wonderhood Studios has been tasked by Channel 4 to create a documentary film that chronicles the life of Angel Lynn, a young woman whose attempt to flee from an abusive relationship resulted in severe, life-changing injuries.

The documentary aims to amplify the voices of victims of coercive control and employs a range of media, including text messages, social media posts, photos, and phone conversations between Angel and her abusive partner, to expose how a caring daughter was ensnared in an abusive relationship that nearly cost her life after being abducted.

Dubbed "Kidnapped: The Angel Lynn Story" (working title), the film features exclusive interviews with Angel's parents, Nikki and Paddy, as well as other family members and close friends from school and work. The documentary tracks Angel's recuperation and gradual healing process from the severe injuries she sustained after falling from a van at a high speed. Angel's family remains hopeful that she will regain her memory and recall the events that led up to her injuries.

Angel Lynn was a hard-working 18-year-old college student from Loughborough with ambitions to become a forensic scientist. She was a bubbly, adventurous daughter, close to her parents, and had always shared what was going on in her life with her family and friends. However, her life changed forever when she started a relationship with Chay Bowskill; it soon started to become increasingly coercive, controlling, as well as mentally abusive. At one point, Bowskill was sent to prison during their relationship, where Angel remained in contact with him by phone. When he was released, their relationship continued and the texts, which Angel showed to her friends, became ever more abusive, threatening, and constant, and she began to withdraw from those closest to her.

Eventually, after she claimed that Bowskill had injured her by violently throwing her against a wall, Angel took the brave decision to leave him. What happened next is unclear, but Bowskill subsequently bundled her into a van driven by a friend, and Angel fell out of it while it was travelling at approximately 60mph. They drove off leaving her in the middle of the road.

Despite doctors telling Nikki and Paddy that she would likely not survive, Angel's condition improved from a coma, and she has since then been making a slow recovery, including recently taking some small steps, but she still remains unable to communicate to the police or her family what actually happened to her. Bowskill denied that he was responsible, or that he had been abusive and controlling, and was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison, later increased to 12, for engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour, kidnapping and perverting the course of justice.

Eddie Redmayne, an Academy, Tony, and BAFTA award-winning actor known for his roles in "The Good Nurse," "Trial of The Chicago Seven," and "The Theory of Everything," has been announced as the lead actor and executive producer for the upcoming original television series "The Day of the Jackal." The series is based on the renowned thriller novel by Frederick Forsyth and the 1973 award-winning film adaptation from Universal Pictures. Sky and Peacock announced the news today.

Six Four - Full series coming on ITVX on Thursday 30 March

The four-part event drama, Six Four, created by BAFTA Scotland Award-winning screenwriter, Gregory Burke (Black Watch), directed Ben A. Williams (Sherwood, Baghdad Central) and produced by award-winning House Productions (Sherwood, Brexit - The Uncivil War).

Based on Hideo Yokoyama's best-selling novel Six Four, this captivating drama takes place mainly in Glasgow and follows the O'Neill family's struggle when their teenage daughter is abducted. It's a tale of darkness, intrigue, treachery, and an unwavering quest for truth.

Kevin McKidd stars as Chris, a serving detective, who receives a shocking revelation about a notorious, unsolved case involving the disappearance of a local girl named Julie Mackie. In the midst of his own daughter's disappearance, a journalist informs Chris that Julie's case was marred by fatal mistakes and covered up. As Chris delves into the case, he discovers a web of corruption, ambitious cover-ups, and undeniable errors.

As Chris tries to make sense of the evidence he has uncovered, his wife Michelle (played by Vinette Robinson) uses her past undercover skills to search for their daughter, taking more and more risks as she delves into the criminal underworld she had previously left behind. In that world, vice and extortion had the power to influence the highest levels of political authority.

Amidst Chris and Michelle's efforts to discover the truth, the Justice Minister's daughter is suddenly abducted just as the minister is on the brink of an election victory. The kidnapping bears disturbing similarities to the Mackie case. Will history repeat itself, or will the explosive truth about Julie's disappearance finally come to light?

Episode 1
DC Chris O'Neill is approached by a journalist about a cold case involving a missing girl. His own daughter is also missing, and his wife Michelle goes to London to search for her.

Scared of The Dark - Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris Eubank, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George and Nicola Adams Enter The Bunker

Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris Eubank, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George and Nicola Adams Enter The Bunker

A group of eight celebrities are embarking on a new Channel 4 reality competition called Scared of The Dark. They will be subjected to the ultimate sensory experience by residing in a pitch-black reality space for a period of eight days. The competition will be hosted by Danny Dyer and the celebrities will live in The Bunker, a specially constructed living space designed to block out all sources of light, equipped with 50 infrared cameras.

Over five consecutive nights, the show will document the celebrities as they adapt to living in the darkness. To exit The Bunker, they must shout "I'm Scared of The Dark" and will be guided into the light. Each celebrity will be required to undertake a series of challenges designed to test their ability to function in the dark or their primal fear of complete darkness.

If they fail in their tasks, they will be required to undertake difficult tasks to remain in the competition. The celebrities will be motivated to conquer their fears as only one will emerge as the winner of the series.

The participating celebrities are retired pro-boxer Nicola Adams, reality star Chloe Burrows, professional boxer Chris Eubank, former professional footballer Paul Gascoigne, singer Max George, comedian Chris McCausland, TV personality Scarlett Moffatt and actress Donna Preston.

It remains to be seen if the experience will create trust amongst the group or if the overwhelming fear of darkness will cause them to falter and request for the lights to be turned on.

Danny Dyer said: "This is possibly one of the most bizarre things I've ever done in my career, and I have done a lot of mad things. Throw in a bunch of celebs and make them do things with the lights off – it's proper good telly. You're gonna laugh, you're gonna laugh some more and I promise you're gonna love it"

Allegedly Famous Fugitives confirmed for new series of "Celebrity" Hunted for Stand Up To Cancer

The following names have been confirmed for "Celebrity" Hunted. Eva Speakman, Nik Speakman, Aimee Fuller, Ed Gamble, Katya Jones, James Acaster, Saffron Barker, Bobby Seagull and Nicola Thorp.

Nope, I have never heard of any of them either, ok Nicola Thorp is in Corrie, so you may have heard of her. The rest are a bunch of no name podcast hosts and "Life-change experts".

Suppose I better share the blurb, since it is for charity.

The ten celebrities will attempt to stay off the radar and remain at large for two weeks as a new crack team of hunters try and hunt them down. With former police officers, intelligence, and army personnel hot on their tail and faces recognisable across the UK, will they be able to remain undetected?

The celebrities will be taking part for Stand Up To Cancer, the joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up to Cancer will air at the end of March.

Personally I'd rather donate money for this NOT to air.

Born From the Same Stranger - Coming to ITV

ITVX's latest series, 'Born From the Same Stranger', produced by award-winning Wall To Wall Media, sheds light on the possibility of discovering unknown siblings for those born from a donor. With the help of DNA technology and a community of self-taught internet sleuths, the four-part series follows searchers as they try to connect with potential brothers and sisters who share the same anonymous biological father.

The series takes place during a time when UK law is changing, allowing anyone conceived by donation after 2005 to uncover details about their identity upon turning 18, eliminating donor anonymity. Despite this, those born earlier face ethical dilemmas and obstacles as they continue their quest for knowledge about their origins.

'Born From the Same Stranger' will showcase heartwarming and captivating stories, including a woman who received her donor's sperm in her grandparents' hand luggage and a man who recently discovered he has 14 siblings. The show delves into the effects of nature and nurture on our identities, as donor-conceived individuals connect with their newfound relatives.

As the series progresses, viewers will witness the emotional journeys of those searching for their biological connections. Each episode will feature new searchers, each with their own unique story, ranging from those who have always known they were donor-conceived to others who only recently discovered the truth about their birth.

The use of DNA technology has revolutionized the process of identifying unknown family members. With the help of genetic testing and online databases, individuals can now discover relatives they never knew existed, leading to heartwarming reunions and an understanding of one's roots.

But the search is not always easy. The series will also explore the ethical questions surrounding the use of donor sperm and the impact it has on the lives of those involved. The searchers' experiences highlight the complexities of navigating the world of donor-conception, and the long-term effects it can have on an individual's sense of identity and belonging.

Overall, 'Born From the Same Stranger' promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking series, shedding light on the challenges and joys of discovering one's unknown biological relatives. As viewers follow the searchers on their emotional journeys, they will gain insight into the nature of family, identity, and the importance of connection.

Rise and Fall coming to Ch4 and presented by Greg james

Radio presenter and author Greg James has today (Monday 6th March) been revealed as the host of Rise and Fall, Channel 4's new reality series from the makers of The Traitors.

Rise and Fall is a game about what it takes to get to the top - how to win power, how to keep hold of it and how to use it to influence others.

In a social experiment, sixteen individuals from diverse backgrounds and of varying ages will commence the game on an equal footing. However, as the game progresses, some will ascend to the role of Ruler, while others will assume the powerless position of Grafter. The Rulers will inhabit luxurious accommodation in a penthouse, while the Grafters will subsist in basic conditions in the basement. As in life, those in power will be accountable for making decisions that have an impact on those without a voice.

The proceedings will be overseen by Greg James as the Grafters undertake an arduous series of games and challenges to generate a cash prize that only the Rulers can claim. While the Rulers will need to motivate the Grafters to work harder, if they push too hard, they risk being overthrown.

In this game, anyone can rise to power or fall from grace, but only one Ruler will secure the prize fund in the end. The Players themselves will determine who ascends and who falls.

Greg James said: "I've been waiting a long time for a show like this to come along that I can get stuck into and be the ringleader of. It's an amazingly mad idea and the contestants are going to make some incredible TV. It's very exciting to launch something brand new on Channel 4 and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. Acclaimed actress Paula Malcomson takes the lead role in Redemption, a six part drama jointly commissioned by ITV and Virgin Media Television, Ireland.

Created by Sean Cook the drama introduces plain speaking, no nonsense DI Colette Cunningham, whose fearless approach to policing has earned her the respect of her Merseyside Police Serious Crime Squad colleagues.

Career driven and dedicated, Colette is unflappable and an absolute force of nature. Until she takes a call from Garda Sergeant Luke Byrne in Dublin. The body of a young woman has been found and Colette is listed as the next of kin.

The name of the victim means nothing to Colette so she continues to efficiently go about her day job. Persisting with his enquiry, the young officer calls again and begins to describe the young woman rendering Colette speechless. She takes the next ferry to Dublin to identify the body of her missing daughter, Kate.

Always a police woman and with 30 years of experience kicking in, Colette has some searching questions. But is she prepared for what she finds?

With her life turned upside down, and grief consuming her every thought, Colette resolves to stay in Ireland to work for the Garda.
