Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris Eubank, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George and Nicola Adams Enter The Bunker

A group of eight celebrities are embarking on a new Channel 4 reality competition called Scared of The Dark. They will be subjected to the ultimate sensory experience by residing in a pitch-black reality space for a period of eight days. The competition will be hosted by Danny Dyer and the celebrities will live in The Bunker, a specially constructed living space designed to block out all sources of light, equipped with 50 infrared cameras.

Over five consecutive nights, the show will document the celebrities as they adapt to living in the darkness. To exit The Bunker, they must shout "I'm Scared of The Dark" and will be guided into the light. Each celebrity will be required to undertake a series of challenges designed to test their ability to function in the dark or their primal fear of complete darkness.

If they fail in their tasks, they will be required to undertake difficult tasks to remain in the competition. The celebrities will be motivated to conquer their fears as only one will emerge as the winner of the series.

The participating celebrities are retired pro-boxer Nicola Adams, reality star Chloe Burrows, professional boxer Chris Eubank, former professional footballer Paul Gascoigne, singer Max George, comedian Chris McCausland, TV personality Scarlett Moffatt and actress Donna Preston.

It remains to be seen if the experience will create trust amongst the group or if the overwhelming fear of darkness will cause them to falter and request for the lights to be turned on.

Danny Dyer said: "This is possibly one of the most bizarre things I've ever done in my career, and I have done a lot of mad things. Throw in a bunch of celebs and make them do things with the lights off – it's proper good telly. You're gonna laugh, you're gonna laugh some more and I promise you're gonna love it"
