The Effects of Lying - Thursday 6th July on ITVX

ITVX has successfully acquired the debut production of Bonaparte Films, titled "The Effects of Lying," set to premiere on 6th July. This refreshing comedic drama, directed by Isher Sahota (known for "Grace" and "McDonald & Dodds") and produced by Jon Tarcy (from "Life in Black"), brings a much-needed South Asian representation to our screens.

"The Effects of Lying" is a delightfully chaotic story that revolves around Naveen (played by Ace Bhatti), a devoted husband and loving father. His life takes an unexpected turn as a series of shocking events unfold over the course of a single day. Decades of hidden secrets are finally revealed, and Naveen is confronted with harsh realities he can no longer ignore.

The talented cast is led by Ace Bhatti (known for "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Line of Duty"), alongside Laila Rouass (from "Holby City" and "Spooks") and Lauren Patel (featured in "Everybody's Talking About Jamie"). Also starring are Navin Chowdhry (known for "The End of the F***ing World" and "Our Girl"), Shaheen Khan (from "Bend it Like Beckham"), and Mark Williams (from the "Harry Potter" series). The script has been written by James Hey (known for "Doctors").

Naveen (Bhatti) has always lived his life by the rules, as a loyal husband and devoted father. He has made countless sacrifices for his family. However, today will be a day unlike any other. As he discovers his teenage daughter Simran (Patel) secretly indulging and his dissatisfied wife Sangeeta (Rouass) in bed with his own brother (Chowdhry), a flood of lies ensues, uncovering the truth that has remained hidden for far too long.
