EastEnders' Peter Beale returns to Walford alongside Cindy and Ian later this year

In a surprising turn of events, Peter Beale is set to return to Walford alongside his parents, Ian and Cindy, later this summer. Thomas Law will be reprising the role, delighting fans of the long-running soap opera.

Peter Beale holds a significant place in Walford's history as the eldest living son of Ian (played by Adam Woodyatt), the show's longest-serving character, and the iconic Cindy Beale (portrayed by Michelle Collins). He first graced the screens in 1993 alongside his twin sister Lucy. Thomas Law previously portrayed the character from 2006 to 2010.

Throughout his time on the show, Peter Beale has been involved in some of EastEnders' most memorable storylines. One of the most gripping was the "Who Killed Lucy Beale?" whodunnit in 2014, which led to his younger brother Bobby (played by Clay Milner Russell) being imprisoned for Lucy's death.

Peter departed Albert Square in 2022 after draining his grandmother Kathy's business account. He has since been residing in France with his estranged mother, Cindy. As he returns to Walford, there are old wounds to heal, and his parents have managed to become enemies with many of the residents. It is safe to say that Peter's comeback won't be without its challenges. To discover the intricacies of the Beale family's reunion and the reasons behind it, viewers will have to tune in to the upcoming episodes.

On reprising the role, Thomas Law says:
"Over the years, I had hoped for a return to the Square although I never thought it would happen so it's an absolute delight to be back in Walford as Peter Beale. It's been great to see familiar and new faces, and I can't wait to explore the character again in the wake of Cindy's return – it's an exciting time to return!"
