Red Eye is a thrilling narrative that unfolds across six heart-pounding instalments. It takes place during an all-night flight from London to Beijing, while also delving into the corridors of power within Whitehall.
Dr. Matthew Nolan, portrayed by Richard Armitage (Obsession, Stay Close), returns to London's Heathrow Airport after attending a medical conference in Beijing. His homecoming takes a terrifying turn when he is unexpectedly arrested, accused of murdering a woman who was involved in a car accident with him. Despite vehemently insisting on his innocence and claiming to have been alone in the vehicle, Nolan faces extradition to China to face trial.
DC Hana Li, portrayed by Jing Lusi (Crazy Rich Asians, Gangs of London), a determined and pragmatic London police officer, is assigned the task of accompanying Nolan back to Beijing. Initially resentful of the assignment and harbouring personal animosity towards Nolan, Hana's perception changes during their flight when the first death occurs. Suspicions of foul play arise, and as more deaths follow, Hana realizes that Nolan's life is in jeopardy. A call from MI5 further entangles her in an intensifying conspiracy.
Meanwhile, in London, we follow Hana's sister, tenacious reporter Jess Li, portrayed by Jemma Moore, who launches her own investigation into Nolan's extradition. Her pursuit of the truth quickly transforms into a perilous race for survival as she finds herself targeted by an unknown assassin.
At Thames House, the headquarters of MI5, Madeline Delaney, played by Lesley Sharp (The Full Monty, Before We Die), the head of the intelligence agency, defies protocol and risks her career to protect Hana, Nolan, and uncover a far-reaching international conspiracy. In doing so, she discovers disturbing connections implicating both Chinese authorities and individuals within her own government.

Thanks to Peter's scripts, the story will have the audience gripped and continually surprised throughout. It's got a fantastic cast led by Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, and we are delighted to be working with Bad Wolf on this exciting new show."
