Password, the popular US guessing game, is set to make its highly anticipated debut in the UK with an exciting new series airing on ITV and ITVX.
Produced by Talkback, a renowned label under Fremantle, the British version of Password features two prominent figures in the entertainment industry. Alan Carr, one of the UK's most beloved comics, and Daisy May Cooper, an award-winning actor and writer, take on the roles of resident Team Captains. Guiding the game with wit and charm is the incredibly talented Stephen Mangan, who assumes the role of the show's host.
Password is a side-splitting word association game that promises laughter and entertainment. Alan and Daisy form teams with contestants and provide one-word clues to help their teammates guess a mysterious "password." The teams must establish a strong connection and synchronize their thinking as they take turns attempting to uncover the all-important password throughout multiple rounds. With hilarious clues, amusing guesses, and plenty of laughter, Daisy and Alan strive to assist the spirited contestants in winning a cash prize in the exhilarating Jackpot final.
Stephen Mangan, says:
"Password is a fantastic game show so it's an absolute pleasure to be the host. Although how I'm going to keep Daisy and Alan in line I don't know!"
Alan Carr says:
"I can't wait to wipe the floor with Daisy, she'll be heading back to the West Country with her tail between her legs. If only her brain was as big as her mouth".
Daisy May Cooper adds:
"I'm looking forward to knocking the glasses off Alan with my expectational talent for this game. I know that...given both our training (Me - drama school, Alan - Tesco) that between us (meaning mostly me) we will be able to win people lots of cash (just to reiterate when I say 'we' I mean 'me')"
Password will be 7 x 45 minutes and is Executive Produced for Talkback by Jonno Richards and Laura Gibson with Juliet Morrish as the Series Producer. The series was commissioned by Joe Mace, Commissioning Editor at ITV & Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV.
