Celebrity Big Brother to return in 2024

ITV has confirmed the return of Celebrity Big Brother in 2024, following the success of the global television phenomenon's debut series on the network. Initial, a part of Banijay UK, is set to produce the star-studded celebrity edition, which will air on ITV1, STV, ITVX, and STV Player.

The autumn launch of Big Brother on its new home garnered 3.6 million viewers across ITV1, STV, ITV2, and ITVX in a multi-channel takeover. Building on this success, Celebrity Big Brother will feature a fresh cast of well-known personalities isolated in the iconic Big Brother house, engaging in weekly nominations and challenging tasks while being constantly monitored by cameras.

Viewers can anticipate nightly coverage with Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live on ITV2 and ITVX, providing an additional hour of exclusive content. This segment will be the exclusive platform for the first live interviews with the evictees, along with special guest commentary, debate, and behind-the-scenes access.

The Celebrity Big Brother: Live Stream, airing seven nights a week on ITVX and STV Player, will offer fans the opportunity to watch live footage into the early morning hours after Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2 and ITVBe, expressed excitement about the viewers' positive response to Big Brother's return, noting that the upcoming celebrity edition is expected to deliver more iconic and unmissable moments. Casting is currently underway to assemble a new batch of famous faces.

The return of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother was secured by entertainment and format producers Natalka Znak and Claire O'Donohoe for Initial, marking a significant format deal for the business since their involvement in 2022. Initial's Managing Director Katy Manley and Creative Director Tamsin Dodgson will oversee both Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.

Natalka Znak, CEO of Initial, Remarkable Entertainment, and Znak TV, expressed joy in working with ITV and the success of Big Brother's return to a new audience on ITV2. She looks forward to the upcoming celebrity edition, stating, "It's been a joy working with ITV, and we're excited to do it all over again and this time with celebrities and on ITV1."
