Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling launch new true crime podcast

"Murder They Wrote" is an exciting new weekly podcast brought to you by BBC Radio 5 Live, featuring hosts Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling. This podcast delves into the chilling stories of history's most heinous criminals.

In each episode, Laura Whitmore, a seasoned broadcaster, and Iain Stirling, a stand-up comedian, select a different nefarious criminal and delve into the narrative of their shocking crimes. The stories span a wide spectrum of wrongdoing, from murder and blackmail to fraud, kidnapping, brainwashing, and catfishing, offering a comprehensive exploration of some of history's most sinister figures.

Listeners will be captivated by tales such as that of a dentist turned hitman with a flair for the dramatic, a kidnapper with a peculiar hiding place for their victims, or a 24-hour marriage that took a deadly turn during the honeymoon. Laura and Iain will take turns presenting a fresh subject each week, meticulously unraveling the darkest details, while the other reacts to the unexpected twists, turns, and jaw-dropping moments as they discover the cases together.

Laura Whitmore expressed her enthusiasm for bringing their true crime fascination to BBC Sounds, highlighting their interest in the psychology of criminal minds and their motivations.
