Catherine McCormack Joins Cast of Sky and Peacock Original Limited Series "Lockerbie"

Renowned actress Catherine McCormack, known for her roles in "Slow Horses," "Temple," and "Lucan," has been announced as the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming limited series "Lockerbie," produced by Sky and Peacock Original. McCormack is set to portray Jane Swire, the wife of Dr. Jim Swire, played by esteemed actor Colin Firth. The series will delve into the tragic events surrounding the terrorist attack on Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988 and the Swire family's relentless pursuit of justice following the loss of their daughter, Flora.

The series, comprising five powerful episodes, will offer viewers an intimate glimpse into the lives of Jim and Jane Swire, whose world was shattered by the devastating events of December 21, 1988, when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the quiet Scottish town of Lockerbie. Alongside McCormack and Firth, the ensemble cast includes Sam Troughton, Mark Bonner, Andy Nyman, Ardalan Esmaili, and Selwa Jghalef in pivotal roles.

Dr. Jim Swire emerges as the spokesperson for UK victims' families, leading a tireless crusade for truth and justice in the face of bureaucratic indifference and political complexities. As the series unfolds, viewers will witness Swire's unwavering determination, which challenges not only the justice system but also his own beliefs and stability.

"Lockerbie," a co-production between Carnival Films and Sky Studios, boasts a stellar creative team, with Scottish playwright David Harrower serving as lead writer and BAFTA Award-winning Otto Bathurst as lead director. The series is based on the book "The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father's Search for Justice" by Jim Swire and Peter Biddulph, along with extensive research from multiple sources.

Production for "Lockerbie" is already underway, with the series slated for release on Sky and NOW in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, as well as on Peacock in the US. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution will handle international sales of the series.

With its compelling narrative and stellar cast, "Lockerbie" promises to be a gripping exploration of one man's unwavering quest for justice amidst the chaos of tragedy and loss.
