Renowned musician Gary Barlow is gearing up to grace ITV screens once again, this time with a captivating exploration of South Africa's rich culinary landscape and burgeoning wine industry in an upcoming travel series set to debut this autumn.

The network has greenlit a five-episode series that will see the Take That icon temporarily trading the stage for a journey into the heart of South Africa, where he will indulge his passion for gastronomy and oenology.

Despite his extensive global travels as part of Take That, Barlow has harbored a deep affinity for South Africa, particularly its captivating landscapes and vibrant culture. Now, as a budding entrepreneur in the wine sector, his fascination with the country extends to its diverse culinary traditions and world-class wines.

Expressing his excitement for the upcoming series, Barlow remarked, "I'm absolutely delighted to be exploring my passion for food, wine, and travel in this new series for ITV. I've always loved South Africa, and I can't wait to delve into all that it has to offer: its people, its landscapes, its rich history… and of course, its incredible wine! This series presents a fresh and exciting challenge for me, and I can't wait to get started."

Barlow's journey will commence in the Western Cape, where he will immerse himself in the region's renowned vineyards, learning about grape varieties, sustainable practices, and the art of food pairing. From there, he will traverse through the breathtaking scenery, accompanied by friends who will join him on this unforgettable expedition.

As the adventure unfolds, Barlow will venture further north to partake in a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience, juxtaposed with the vibrant energy of Johannesburg, where he will uncover a burgeoning wine revolution.

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment at ITV, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We are thrilled to be working with Gary for this series. His passion and commitment for this project are truly captivating, and we're confident that he will have our ITV audience enthralled throughout this South African adventure."

Leanne Clarke, Assistant Commissioner for Entertainment and Daytime at ITV, echoed Rawcliffe's sentiments, anticipating that the series will be perfect viewing for audiences as the autumnal months approach.

Charlotte Davis, Creative Director at Rock Oyster Media, the production company behind the series, also shared her excitement, declaring, "We are completely thrilled to be working with Gary on this exciting new series for ITV – it promises to be a complete treat!"

Produced by Rock Oyster Media for ITV, the series promises to offer viewers a captivating blend of culinary discovery, breathtaking landscapes, and Gary Barlow's trademark charm, making it a must-watch event for autumn.
