Apple TV+ Expands Drama Slate with "Imperfect Women" Limited Series

Apple TV+ continues to bolster its lineup of compelling dramas with the announcement of "Imperfect Women," a new limited series adapted from Araminta Hall's gripping novel of the same name. Emmy Award-winners Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington are set to star and executive produce this psychological thriller, promising viewers a riveting exploration of friendship, guilt, and betrayal.

The series, to be adapted for television by Annie Weisman, known for her work on the critically acclaimed "Physical," will be a collaboration between Apple TV+, 20th Television, and Apple Studios.

Elisabeth Moss, acclaimed for her roles in "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Mad Men," expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, "From the moment I received Araminta's novel, I couldn't put it down. It was such an electrifying read; I fell in love with it immediately." Moss also lauded Kerry Washington's involvement, highlighting her admiration for Washington's talent as both an actor and producer.

Kerry Washington, known for her roles in "Scandal" and "Little Fires Everywhere," reciprocated the sentiment, stating, "I could not have been more thrilled to get this call from Elisabeth." Washington emphasized her excitement to collaborate with Moss and Weisman, expressing her appreciation for their shared vision for the series.

Weisman herself expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring complex female characters to the screen once again, underscoring the talent and vision of her collaborators.

Araminta Hall, the author of the novel, conveyed her delight at seeing her work adapted for television, particularly with such esteemed partners. She praised Moss, Washington, and Weisman for their deep understanding of her book's themes and characters.

"Imperfect Women" promises to be an unconventional psychological thriller, delving into the intricacies of a crime that fractures the decades-long friendship of three women. With themes of guilt, retribution, and the evolution of relationships over time, the series offers a compelling exploration of human nature and the choices that shape our lives.

The limited series is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios, with Moss and Lindsey McManus executive producing through their production company Love & Squalor Pictures. Washington will also serve as an executive producer alongside Pilar Savone from Simpson Street Productions.

As Apple TV+ continues to deliver thought-provoking and immersive storytelling, "Imperfect Women" stands out as a testament to the platform's commitment to engaging narratives and top-tier talent. With Moss, Washington, and Weisman at the helm, audiences can anticipate a gripping and unforgettable viewing experience when the series arrives on screens.
