Get Ready to Roar with Laughter: "Mammoth" Coming Soon to BBC Two and iPlayer

Get ready to embark on a time-traveling adventure filled with laughs as BBC Two and BBC iPlayer bring forth a brand new comedy series, "Mammoth," starring the dynamic duo Mike Bubbins and Sian Gibson. With a stellar cast including Joseph Marcell, Joel Davison, and William Thomas, "Mammoth" promises to tickle your funny bone and warm your heart.

The first look photo has been unveiled, showcasing Mike Bubbins, known for his roles in "The Socially Distant Sports Bar" and "Tourist Trap," alongside Sian Gibson, celebrated for her performances in "The Power of Parker" and "Car Share," as the eccentric Tony Mammoth and the sharp-witted Mel Jones. Joining them are Joseph Marcell from "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," Joel Davison from "The First Team," and William Thomas from "Gavin and Stacey/Twin Town."

Tony Mammoth is a character straight out of a time capsule, a relic from the past thrust into the bewildering world of 2024. Once a carefree bachelor living it up in 1979, Tony's life took a dramatic turn when an avalanche during a school ski trip whisked him away, only to find himself miraculously preserved and revived decades later. Now, with a second chance at life, Tony longs for the familiarity of his old existence – the same job, the same car, the same friends. Surely, things couldn't have changed that much since the '70s, could they?

But Tony's journey takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Mel, the mother of one of his pupils. Played by the talented Sian Gibson, Mel is a force to be reckoned with, and sparks fly as their worlds collide. However, beneath their initial friction lies a surprising connection waiting to be discovered.

"Mammoth" is set to deliver three uproarious 30-minute episodes, each packed with wit, charm, and plenty of nostalgia. Created by Mike Bubbins and co-written with Paul Doolan, the series is helmed by director Simon Hynd and produced by Luke Mason, promising a delightful blend of humor and heart.

Commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy, and Nick Andrews, Head of Commissioning at BBC Wales, "Mammoth" is a BBC Studios Comedy production with Josh Cole and Steven Canny serving as Executive Producers. Seb Barwell and Paul Forde of BBC are the Commissioning Editors, ensuring that this comedic gem reaches audiences with its irresistible charm and infectious humor.

So mark your calendars and prepare for a rollicking ride through time and laughter with "Mammoth," set to premiere soon on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. Get ready to laugh, reminisce, and embrace the timeless humor of this unforgettable comedy series.
