ITV Orders Two More Series of Smash-Hit Quiz Show "The 1% Club"

ITV has announced a double commission for the wildly popular quiz show "The 1% Club," with two new series set to grace screens in the coming months. Produced by Magnum Media for ITV, the show has captured the hearts and minds of viewers, earning critical acclaim and soaring ratings.

Also did you know there is now a board game based on the show, which you can check out at https://amzn.to/49T8IaK

Hosted by the BAFTA award-winning comedian Lee Mack, "The 1% Club" has been a standout success, garnering accolades such as the Quiz Game Show Award at the 2023 National Television Awards and consecutive wins for Best Entertainment Show at the Broadcast Awards. The program's recent episode on February 24th marked its highest-ever viewership, attracting over 5.3 million viewers.

Lee Mack expressed his excitement about the show's continued success, jokingly acknowledging the challenges of hosting such a dynamic quiz: "Well let's be honest, the fact that I haven't accidentally given a hundred grand to the wrong person or read out the answer instead of the question is as much a surprise to me as it is to everyone else."

The format of "The 1% Club" sets it apart from traditional quizzes, as contestants vie for a top prize of up to £100,000 by answering questions that only 1% of the population would get right. The show's inclusive nature allows contestants from all backgrounds to participate, with logic and common sense being the keys to success.

One of the show's innovations, the live play-along app introduced in the second series in 2023, has been a resounding hit with viewers. Topping app download charts during its debut weeks on air, the app has enhanced viewer engagement and participation.

The decision to commission two additional series of "The 1% Club" was met with enthusiasm by ITV's Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor, Satmohan Panesar, and Head of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy. In a joint statement, they praised the show's undeniable appeal and Lee Mack's charismatic hosting: "For a show that requires brains… the decision to recommission this multi-award-winning, ratings-busting juggernaut, presented by one of Britain's funniest and most engaging comedians, was actually a no-brainer."

Executive Producers Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach expressed their delight at the extended commission, likening it to a triumphant moment in the show's own format: "We couldn't be happier that ITV are commissioning two more series in one go. It's like getting the 1% question right and still having your Pass."

With its blend of wit, suspense, and viewer interaction, "The 1% Club" continues to solidify its status as a must-watch entertainment phenomenon, promising more exhilarating moments and brain-teasing challenges in the seasons to come.

Don't forget to get the board game
