Apple TV+ Unveils Premiere Date for René Redzepi's New Documentary Series "Omnivore"

Apple TV+ has officially announced the premiere date for its eagerly awaited documentary series "Omnivore," created and narrated by the celebrated chef René Redzepi. The series is set to debut globally on July 19, 2024, offering viewers a captivating exploration of food's role in human culture and history.

René Redzepi, known for his groundbreaking work as the chef and co-owner of the acclaimed restaurant Noma, takes audiences on a journey through the world of food in "Omnivore." The series delves into the profound beauty and intricate complexities of the human experience, viewed through the lens of essential ingredients that connect us all.

"Omnivore" is structured around eight pivotal ingredients: bananas, chillies, coffee, corn, pork, rice, salt, and tuna. Each episode focuses on one of these ingredients, celebrating their cultivation, transformation, and consumption. The series highlights how these staples have become the bedrock of global cultural heritage, weaving together the intricate stories that have shaped societies, cultures, beliefs, and historical trajectories.

Guided by Redzepi and Emmy Award-winning executive producer Matt Goulding, known for his work on "Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown," "Omnivore" takes viewers on a global odyssey. The series spans diverse destinations, including Denmark, Serbia, Thailand, Spain, Japan, Djibouti, Peru, South Korea, France, Colombia, India, Bali, Rwanda, Mexico, and various locations throughout the United States. Through these travels, the series offers an intimate exploration of culinary traditions and local efforts to honor, conserve, and protect Earth's natural bounty.

The production of "Omnivore" is a collaborative effort, with FIFTH SEASON and FILM 45 producing the series for Apple TV+. Alongside Redzepi and Goulding, the executive production team includes Chris Rice, Ben Liebmann, Michael Antinoro, Max Wagner, Collin Orcutt, and Mateo Willis. The series was developed for television by Cary Joji Fukunaga, further ensuring a high-quality viewing experience.
