The hit US female buddy cop show continues this month, with more crime solving based in and around Boston.
Starring Angie Harmon as feisty, blue collar detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as glamorous and clinical medical examiner Maura Isles, the chalk-and-cheese duo take on the criminal underworld of the American city.
This month’s episodes start when Rizzoli and Isles investigate the shooting of a student in broad daylight, while Jane’s mother Angie (The Sopranos’ Lorraine Bracco) is battling her ex-husband over the car.
Next, in The Money For Nothing, the eldest brother in a Boston ‘Brahmin’ family (direct descendents of passengers on the Mayflower) is found dead in the harbour after an apparent sailing accident. Maura’s close connection with the family and Jane’s resentment at their wealth puts them at loggerheads and threatens the investigation.
Elsewhere, Brenda Strong (Mary Alice in Desperate Housewives) guest stars in an episode that sees Jane go undercover at a lesbian bar to try and find the perpetrator of the brutal assault and murder of a young woman. While Jane is hanging with the ladies, Maura is trying to fix her up with a hunky yoga teacher.
Finally, in Born To Run, a marathon turns into a moving crime scene when a shooter begins targeting runners during the race. Jane and Maura had planned to run in the race, but instead show trying to catch a killer. Guest starring Brother And Sisters’ Balthazar Getty.
