ITV Releases First Trailer for Andrew Buchan’s Passenger

The highly anticipated series Passenger is set to captivate audiences as ITV unveils its first trailer, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the mysterious world of Chadder Vale. Produced by Northern Sister, a division of the acclaimed SISTER group, and penned by debut screenwriter Andrew Buchan, Passenger promises a gripping narrative that delves into the depths of a small Northern town's darkest secrets.

Headlining the ensemble cast is the talented Wunmi Mosaku, known for her award-winning performances in Loki and Lovecraft Country, who takes on the role of Former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa. Ajunwa finds herself thrust into the heart of Chadder Vale's enigma as she investigates a string of perplexing crimes that defy rational explanation.

The tranquil facade of Chadder Vale is shattered when local girl Katie Wells, portrayed by the promising Rowan Robinson, vanishes under inexplicable circumstances, only to reappear unscathed the following day. As suspicion and fear grip the tight-knit community, led by David Threlfall's Jim Bracknell, blame is cast on external forces such as the nearby fracking site.

However, for Ajunwa, the superficial explanations fail to satisfy her investigative instincts. Armed with determination and an outsider's perspective, she embarks on a quest to uncover the truth lurking beneath the surface. Yet, her efforts are met with resistance from the townsfolk, who cling to their familiar routines and refuse to confront the unsettling reality encroaching upon their lives.

Joining Mosaku in this enthralling tale are a host of talented actors, including Jo Hartley, Barry Sloane, and Nico Mirallegro, each bringing depth and nuance to the vibrant tapestry of characters populating Chadder Vale. From Chief Constable Linda Markel to the enigmatic Mehmet Shah, portrayed by Shervin Alenabi, every individual plays a pivotal role in the unfolding drama.

With its blend of mystery, suspense, and supernatural elements, Passenger promises to be a compelling addition to ITV's lineup. As viewers prepare to embark on this riveting journey, they are invited to brace themselves for a narrative that challenges perceptions and explores the uncharted territories of fear, change, and the unknown.

Passenger is slated to premiere on both ITV1 and ITVX later this month, offering audiences an opportunity to immerse themselves in the secrets lurking within the picturesque yet foreboding landscape of Chadder Vale.
