Channel 4 to Air England’s UEFA U21 EURO 2025 Title Defence Live This Summer

UEFA U21 EURO 2025

England’s quest to defend their UEFA European Under-21 Championship title will be front and centre this summer, with every match shown live and exclusive on Channel 4. The broadcaster will carry full coverage of the Young Lions’ campaign in Slovakia, giving fans a chance to follow every moment as Lee Carsley’s side aim to lift the trophy for a second consecutive time.

The action kicks off on 12th June as England U21 face Czechia U21 in their opening group game. That will be followed by a clash with Slovenia U21 on 15th June, before a highly anticipated group stage finale against Germany U21 on 18th June. All three matches will be shown live on Channel 4, ensuring that supporters back home won’t miss a beat.

It’s not just England’s fixtures getting the spotlight. Channel 4 will also air 15 additional matches live on 4Seven, with even more tournament action available through the Channel 4 Sport YouTube channel. This marks a major broadcasting commitment from the channel, making the 2025 U21 EURO the most widely accessible in the tournament’s history for UK viewers.

Head coach Lee Carsley is still to confirm his final squad, but several rising stars from across Europe’s top leagues are expected to feature. Premier League names like Harvey Elliott, Liam Delap, Adam Wharton and Ethan Nwaneri are all strong contenders, while Jobe Bellingham and Bundesliga winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens bring added flair and international experience.

“We are pleased Channel 4 will be broadcasting all of our games in Slovakia live this summer,” said Carsley. “The opportunity for our talented squad to play in a big tournament with fans able to watch back home will only add to what we hope will be another memorable UEFA U21 EURO campaign.”

He added, “We look forward to supporting Channel 4’s coverage of another group of Young Lions looking to write their own history.”

Pete Andrews, Channel 4’s Head of Sport, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership. “The Young Lions have a squad brimming with talent and they’ve got a fantastic opportunity to bring home title number four, live on Channel 4,” he said. “After bumper viewing figures for the last UEFA U21 EURO final, we are now bringing the whole tournament to viewers for free.”

The tournament begins a day earlier on 11th June with hosts Slovakia facing Spain, the side England famously defeated in the 2023 final. From that opening whistle through to the final, Channel 4 promises to be the home of the U21 EURO for football fans across the UK.
