Sky has unveiled the first trailer for the third season of The Gilded Age, the Emmy-nominated drama from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. The new eight-episode season arrives on Sky and streaming service NOW from Monday 23 June.
Set during America's period of seismic economic and social change, the story picks up after the Opera War has left the old guard weakened. The Russells are now positioned to rise to the top of society. Bertha sets her sights on a goal that would elevate the family beyond anything they've known, while George takes a major gamble in the railroad world that could either revolutionise the industry or cost him everything.
Across the street, the Brook household faces disruption as Agnes refuses to accept Ada's new status as lady of the house. Peggy is introduced to a doctor from Newport, though his family are less than pleased about her career. As the city moves toward the future, each decision made by these characters risks what they value most.
Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon return in a season where personal stakes and shifting fortunes shape the heart of the drama.
