Josie Gibson is heading back to her roots with a huge new project, as ITV confirms a brand new primetime series, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build. Across seven episodes, viewers will follow the much-loved presenter as she sets out to completely transform a rundown Somerset property into a stylish, sustainable countryside home.

Set to air in 2026 on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player, the series gives an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of the ambitious renovation. Josie isn't tackling it alone either. She's roped in her brothers, scrap metal traders Josh and Charlie, along with her cousin Tom the builder. Locals from the surrounding area also get involved, bringing their skills and quirks to a project that's shaping up to be anything but straightforward.

Josie's plan is more than just bricks and mortar. She wants to build a home that runs on clean energy and works in sync with the landscape around it. That means growing her own food, installing eco-friendly systems, and even looking after bees with a self-flowing hive. It's a steep learning curve, and while the dream is peaceful and green, the reality brings its fair share of problems.

She's aiming for a space that balances comfort and conscience, with plans for a gym, a walk-in wardrobe, and blackout windows to complete the build. But from plumbing problems to land management, nothing comes easy. Her lack of renovation experience quickly becomes apparent, and what starts as a dream project soon threatens to spiral into a logistical headache.

ITV's Katie Rawliffe called the series a chance to see a whole new side to Josie, while Dom Bird from MGM praised her energy and honesty, even as she faces tough lessons along the way. Josie herself has admitted the journey hasn't been smooth. What began as a peaceful vision of birds, bees and badgers in harmony has started to look more like a full-on construction nightmare. Still, she's committed to seeing it through, and the result promises to be something truly personal.

Josie Gibson's Big Country Build is produced by MGM Alternative UK. It was commissioned by Katie Rawliffe and Lily Wilson for ITV, with Sarah Clarke as series producer. Josie's countryside challenge begins on ITV in 2026.
