The Sky Arts Awards are set to return on Tuesday 16 September, once again hosted at the iconic Roundhouse in London. The ceremony will air that same evening on Sky Arts and Freeview, continuing its mission to spotlight the very best of British and Irish artistic talent.

Produced by DRUM Studios, the event builds on the long-standing legacy of the South Bank Sky Arts Awards, evolving into a broader celebration of creativity across a wide span of disciplines. It remains the only awards ceremony in the world that recognises excellence across such a wide spectrum, covering classical music, popular music, theatre, film, literature, comedy, poetry, opera, dance, visual arts and television. This year’s nominees are yet to be announced, but anticipation is already building.

Executive Director of Unscripted Originals at Sky, Phil Edgar-Jones OBE, described the event not just as a celebration, but as a statement about the role of the arts in everyday life. In his words, the awards serve as “a reminder of why the arts matter,” especially at a time when the creative sector continues to battle for funding and visibility. His comments underline the show’s wider message, that creativity doesn’t just entertain, it shapes identities, strengthens communities and brings real joy to people’s lives.

The event has been commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones for Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer for Sky. Leanne Cosby serves as Commissioning Editor, with Vanessa Woodard as Project Manager.

Behind the scenes, DRUM Studios leads the production effort, with Andy Holland and Danny Carvalho as Executive Producers. Sarah Fink is Head of Production, Mark Thorne returns as Showrunner, and the ceremony will be directed by Julia Knowles.

With the Roundhouse once again as its venue and a strong production team in place, the Sky Arts Awards looks set to deliver another powerful showcase of cultural achievement. Audiences across the UK and Ireland can expect an evening that celebrates the enduring power and relevance of the arts in modern life.
