U2 will perform an exclusive concert for BBC Music in November, as announced by Jo Whiley on her BBC Radio 2 show, which airs Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 9pm.
The 22-time Grammy Award-winning band will perform in front of a select audience of fans at an indoor venue in central London on Tuesday 3 November. The concert will feature songs from across U2's extensive back catalogue, alongside new tracks from their upcoming studio album, Carnaval De Luz.
A limited number of tickets are available through a BBC Audiences ballot, which closes at midnight on Thursday 29 October. The central London venue will be revealed to successful ticket holders on the day of the performance.
The concert will be broadcast on BBC Two in late November as part of a dedicated night of programming celebrating U2.
BBC Radio 2 listeners can also hear the performance on Monday 30 November, from 7pm to 9pm, during Jo Whiley's show. The broadcast will feature a new interview with members of the band.
Both programmes will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds after their initial broadcasts.
U2 will also join Vernon Kay on his BBC Radio 2 show for Tracks of My Years, choosing ten songs that have soundtracked their lives and careers.
The episode will be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday 15 November. It will also be broadcast during the following week, commencing Monday 16 November, on Vernon's weekday show, which airs from 9.30am to noon.
The Tracks of My Years programme will also be shown on BBC Two on the same night as the concert broadcast.
