Jim Moir, known affectionately as Vic Reeves, alongside his wife Nancy, embarks on another enchanting journey across the UK, traversing diverse landscapes to discover and paint the native bird species of each region. From the Chatsworth Estate, where dippers abound, to the iconic Battersea Power Station, home to nesting peregrines, and the rugged Antrim Coast, habitat of the elusive puffins, the Moirs promise viewers a delightful blend of wildlife exploration and artistic expression.

Adding to the excitement, celebrity guests will join the Moirs throughout the series, including the likes of Justin Hawkins, Mary McCartney, Nitin Ganatra, Stephen Mangan, Joe Pasquale, Ronni Ancona, and Imelda May. Each guest will try their hand at creating bird-inspired artwork, adding a touch of star power to the artistic odyssey.

In addition to birdwatching adventures, Jim and Nancy will delve into various artistic techniques, from crafting linocuts of stilts and golden plovers in Wrexham to exploring community projects like The Hide Sculpture in Fingal, Dublin. Traditional Chinese ink and calligraphy brushes will be employed to capture the serene beauty of Loch Mallachie in the Scottish Highlands, showcasing the duo's diverse artistic repertoire.

Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment, expressed his delight at the return of the Moirs, hailing "Painting Birds" as a "real treat" that celebrates the exquisite beauty of airborne wildlife through Jim's masterful paintings.

The second series of "Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir" was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones for Sky Arts and Entertainment, with Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland, overseeing the production. Barbara Lee serves as the Commissioning Editor for Sky.
