ITV has announced an exciting new addition to its programming lineup: "Dermot's Taste of Ireland," a five-part series featuring the beloved television presenter Dermot O'Leary. Produced by Rock Oyster Media, this gastronomic adventure is set to air on ITV1 and ITVX, promising viewers a delicious tour of Ireland's rich culinary heritage.

In this series, Dermot O'Leary, renowned for his engaging presence and love of food, will explore his family roots and the diverse food scene of Ireland. O'Leary, who has shared his favorite home recipes on ITV's "This Morning" and owns two fish-themed restaurants, is now taking his culinary explorations to the scenic landscapes of Ireland.

The series aims to provide a tantalizing journey across the island, highlighting traditional Irish dishes and modern culinary innovations. Viewers can expect to see O'Leary delve into the heart of Ireland's food culture, sampling everything from hearty Irish stew to delicate boxty potato pancakes, and from fresh seafood to soda bread. Along his journey, he will meet the chefs and locals who celebrate and uphold Ireland's gastronomic traditions.

"Dermot's Taste of Ireland" will feature a diverse array of locations and experiences. O'Leary will visit Michelin Star restaurants in Kinsale, known as the 'Gourmet Capital of Ireland,' where he will savor exquisite dishes crafted by top chefs. In Cork, he will try his hand at fishing for oysters by the sea, immersing himself in the local seafood traditions. Wexford will offer a taste of home-grown comfort food, showcasing the warm hospitality of rural Ireland.

Dublin's vibrant food scene will be another highlight, as O'Leary explores the capital's bustling markets, contemporary eateries, and historic pubs. The journey will culminate in Northern Ireland, with a visit to the dynamic city of Belfast and its surroundings, revealing the region's unique culinary offerings and stunning landscapes.

Dermot O'Leary expressed his enthusiasm for the series, stating, "I can't wait to embark on this trip, to explore two of my great loves, Ireland and food. The food scene in Ireland is so exciting and to meet the people and try the produce will be a real treat. It's exciting to see modern Ireland through second-generation eyes - and to show that Ireland's food is more than cabbage and stews... although all their cabbage and stews are also great!"

"Dermot's Taste of Ireland" is poised to be a visual and culinary feast, celebrating the rich and diverse food culture of Ireland. Viewers can look forward to not only mouth-watering dishes but also the breathtaking scenery and vibrant stories of the people behind the food. This series is set to be a heartfelt exploration of Ireland's gastronomic landscape through the eyes of one of Britain's most charming and passionate presenters.

Ireland is also famous for its jewellery, including its fashionable cheap rings.
