Get ready for some serious drama, because the trailer for In Flight, a brand-new crime thriller, has just been released, and it looks intense! This compelling new series is all about a flight attendant whose life gets turned completely upside down. Why? She's blackmailed into smuggling drugs after her son ends up in a Bulgarian prison, accused of a murder he swears he didn't commit.
This high-octane drama is a 6-part series, with each episode clocking in at 60 minutes. In Flight is set to launch on Tuesday, August 12th. It's produced by Buccaneer Media, the team behind popular shows like The Crow Girl, Marcella, and The Burning Girls. The series was written and co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy), with Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh) producing and Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star) directing.
The cast is led by Katherine Kelly (recently seen in Mr Bates vs the Post Office, The Long Shadow, and Happy Valley) as Jo Conran, the single mum and flight attendant at the heart of the story. She's joined by Stuart Martin (Rebel Moon, Miss Scarlet and The Duke) as Cormac, a key figure in the criminal gang who forces Jo into her dangerous new role. Adding another layer to the story is Ashley Thomas (Them, Top Boy) as Jo's ex-husband, Dom Delaney, a Customs Officer.
As Jo gets pulled deeper into a dark world of corruption and hired killers, she's stuck carrying out their orders while desperately trying to find a way out. She even turns to her ex, Dom, for help. No matter how far Jo drifts from her old life, her main goal remains the same: keeping her son alive.
In Flight is set against the fast-paced, high-pressure world of international air travel, following Jo's relentless mission to protect her family while tangled up with a dangerous criminal organization. The strong ensemble cast also includes Bronagh Waugh as Melanie, Harry Cadby as Sonny, Corinna Brown as Kayla, and Ambreen Razia as Zara.
This captivating and high-stakes series will take viewers to dynamic global locations, including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul, and London. Filming for the series took place in Belfast, with support from Northern Ireland Screen.
Coming Soon to Channel 4
