New Mystery Drama 'One Night' Coming to ITV This August

Get ready for a gripping new mystery heading your way this August! ITV1 and ITVX are set to exclusively broadcast One Night, a six-part drama that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat.

This series features a fantastic cast, including the brilliant Jodie Whittaker, Nicole da Silva (whom you might recognise from Wentworth or Rush), and Yael Stone (Orange Is the New Black). At its heart, One Night tells the story of three women whose incredibly close bond was shattered by a traumatic event that happened two decades ago.

We meet Simone (played by Nicole da Silva), who, for years, has secretly dreamed of becoming a novelist. Most of her attempts have just ended up tucked away in a drawer. But now, at 40, she's finally written the one story she simply couldn't shake from her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight hit.

However, it quickly becomes clear that the devastating story told in her book isn't solely hers. The tragedy at the core of Simone's novel is also something that happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two best friends from childhood. As the lines between fact and fiction, and between one person's memory and another's, start to blur, the book threatens to completely derail all their friendships. It brings old traumas right back to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and even stirs up those responsible, who are desperate to make it all disappear.

One Night was created and written by the award-winning Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor, The PM's Daughter). The entire series will be available to stream on ITVX once it airs.

The fantastic ensemble cast also includes Kat Stewart (Five Bedrooms, Offspring), George Mason (The Power of the Dog), Erroll Shand (Underbelly: Land of the Long Green Cloud), Noni Hazlehurst (A Place To Call Home, Fires), Tina Bursill (Doctor Doctor), William Zappa (The Dry, Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears), Damien Strouthos (The Twelve), and Jillian Nguyen (Barons).
