Sky has released a brand-new teaser for IT: Welcome to Derry, giving fans another glimpse into the dark and twisted world first imagined by Stephen King. The upcoming series will arrive this October on Sky and streaming service NOW, continuing the legacy of the infamous town where terror lurks beneath the surface.
Developed for television by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the team behind IT and IT Chapter Two, along with Jason Fuchs, the series takes place in the same cinematic universe as the recent films. Andy Muschietti will return to direct several episodes, keeping the visual and emotional tone in line with what came before.
The story is based on King's original IT novel, but rather than retelling what fans already know, it will expand the mythology and dig into Derry's sinister past. With decades of horror woven into the fabric of the town, the show has plenty of room to explore its haunted history and unspoken horrors.
The cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård. While exact details of their roles haven't been confirmed, Skarsgård's involvement hints at the return of Pennywise or at least the lingering presence of the evil that feeds on fear.
The teaser doesn't give away much, but the atmosphere is unmistakable. Derry remains a place of dread, filled with empty streets, eerie silence, and something always watching from just out of sight. Whether the series leans more into psychological unease or graphic horror, it looks set to stay true to the unsettling tone that defined the films.
By expanding on King's terrifying vision and diving deeper into the roots of Derry's evil, IT: Welcome to Derry hopes to offer something new while staying connected to what made the story so enduring. With strong creative hands guiding it and a solid cast in place, the series could be a fitting and frightening addition to one of horror's most iconic worlds.
