Apple TV+ has confirmed that Stick, its warm, offbeat sports comedy starring Owen Wilson, is officially returning for a second season. Following widespread praise for its first run, the show's next chapter promises more laughs, heart, and a few fresh faces, alongside the returning core cast that includes Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño and Lilli Kay.

Created by Jason Keller, Stick follows Pryce Cahill, a washed-up ex-pro golfer trying to rebuild his life after his career fell apart two decades ago. With nothing to lose, he latches onto Santi, a troubled teenage golf prodigy, hoping to shape his future while salvaging his own. It's a story of second chances, unlikely mentorship, and the strange kind of family that forms when life goes sideways.

Owen Wilson, who both stars and executive produces, said the cast had a great time making the first season and was thrilled to be carrying on. Keller echoed that enthusiasm, calling the show's return a joy and joking that it gave him the perfect excuse to keep playing golf. Matt Cherniss at Apple TV+ said audiences had immediately embraced the tone and charm of the show, and hinted there's still plenty left in Pryce's story.

Season one has been described as ideal comfort viewing, with reviewers calling it a "hole-in-one" and one of the summer's must-watch series. While it leans into classic sports underdog territory, it also plays like a character-driven comedy, blending grounded humour with sharp performances. Wilson's deadpan delivery and Dager's raw intensity give the core relationship a mix of bite and warmth.

The season one finale, now streaming, leaves the door wide open for a follow-up. With Santi's golf dreams on the line and an unexpected arrival stirring things up, fans will likely be curious to see where the series heads next. The final episode, titled Déjà Vu All Over Again, marks a turning point for Pryce and those around him.

Part of the show's appeal has been its authentic golf world cameos, with appearances from names like Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Keegan Bradley, as well as broadcasters and influencers from the sport's current wave. That detail grounds Stick in a very real setting, even as it focuses on the personal messiness behind the scenes.

There's no premiere date yet for season two, but with the cast and creative team back on board, Stick looks set to keep hitting its stride. Apple TV+ seems confident it has something special on its hands, and it's hard to argue with the buzz so far.
