As ever, judges George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan will be on hand to assist, taste and, ultimately, be responsible for deciding who stays and who goes. And, in this series they have their work cut out for them when controversy reared its head early in the competition - contestant Audra Morrice listed her occupation as Account Manager, but a newspaper expose revealed her company to be Audra's Gourmet Kitchen. Will she survive?
Later in the series, look out for guest chefs including Rick Stein, Jamie Oliver, Heston Blumenthal, Marco Pierre White and Antonio Carluccio.
Series four starts with a double-bill episode and with 50 top amateur chefs gathering in Melbourne at the Royal Exhibition Building and the South Melbourne Market for challenges that will make or break their progress into the final 24. With Mystery Box challenges, Pressure Tests, Masterclasses, Invention Tests and Elimination Challenges, the motto 'cooking doesn't get tougher than this' has never been more apt.
